Money Basics: enrolling a student (for parents and guardians)
Money Basics is a starter course for high-school students. Students 13 to 17 can't sign up on their own: a parent or guardian creates and manages their account.
To enroll a student
- Create your own account (or sign in).
- Open Family from your dashboard, or go to
/family/. - Under Add a student, enter the student's first name, confirm their age is 13 to 17, choose a password for them, and confirm you're their parent or guardian.
- The page shows the student's sign-in name (for example
student-7F3KQ). Share it and the password with your student. - Choose Enroll next to the student's name, or open the Money Basics course page and pick the student under Who is this for?
What a student account stores: a first name, the sign-in name, the password and course progress. No email address, no birth date and no financial plan. Students can't buy anything, claim promotions or see adult course offers. Reminders and messages about the student come to you.
Managing a student: on the Family page you can see progress, reset the student's password, request a refund for a paid enrollment, and delete the student account and its progress.
Students who are 18 or older can create their own account and enroll directly.
